Nchedo is a nonprofit art project rooted in the Igbo word for shelter and protection.

We provide critical support to emerging artists through residencies, mentorship, and public programs designed to help them expand and sustain their artistic practice.

Founded by contemporary Nigerian artist Chidinma Nnoli, Nchedo was created in response to the unique challenges faced by young artists in Nigeria. Nchedo bridges the often isolating gap between formal art education and professional practice, offering a community centered environment grounded in radical care, and creative agency.
